This Summer I'm making an effort to spend more time cooking with my boys. Typically Sam and Walter would have Summer camp but not this year... so we needed to find something fun to do on those long hot Summer days. Solution- learn some new skills in the kitchen.
All three of us love to cook but I realized that I haven't spent much time teaching basic cooking techniques to my boys. Over the summer we'll be learning the basics and exploring new recipes.
In this video Sam and I make a simple cold Summer soup: beet, bell pepper, cherry tomato and fresh ginger. It's easy, beautiful and delicious. This recipe is from the "New Basics Cookbook". One of my favorite and most used cookbooks.
